At Ess Dee Aluminium, our corporate approach guarantees that Environment Health and Safety (EHS) is ingrained in our corporate DNA. Our core belief is to manufacture products safely in an environmentally responsible manner.

Highlights of our EHS philosophy are:

• Our PVC plant has implemented Quality Systems since January 2005 and has been certified by SWISO for ISO-9001:2000.
• The PVdC coating plant has implemented Quality Systems since January 2006 and the plant has been certified by SWISO for ISO-9001:2000.
• New test methods and requirements identified and implemented to cope with the requirements of USFDA and Code of federal requirements: 21 CFR 110 - Current Good manufacturing Practices guideline and DMF Type III.
• DMF No. 19602 for Rigid PVC Calendering Plant and DMF No. 21160 for PVdC coating plant.

Our endeavour is to create a safe and healthy workplace for all our employees and the communities in which we work and live. With small environmental footprints, we ensure that our responsibility in the area of safety, health and environmental protection towards our employees, human society and the natural environment is taken very seriously. Our EHS initiatives are an expression of our resolve to improve the quality of life for the society at large.

Environment: All plants have waste reduction programs in place.

Safety: No lost time accidents in 2008-09

Health: All our units are accredited to DMF Type III US FDA. Ergonomic studies continue to improve the design of work stations.

EHS Management: All plants are ISO 9001: 2000 versions certified. We are pursuing ISO 22000/HACCP.

EHS Training: Tailored training programs operate on all levels of our organisation. We implement international safety standards in all our plant operations and EHS is implemented by customized programs meeting our operational needs.
